Shawk Family History & Genealogy

History

I think some of Shawk family members were sent by the Ottoman empire to Lebanon along with lots of other branches and tribes of Kurdish and Turkish origin to put an end to an unrest that was caused by what so called Fakhr Al Deen in Mount Lebanon in the early 1600. Fakhr Al Deen however fought back and caused those people to take refuge in the high elevation of the mountainous places which later became their home. There are lots of other pepole who live in Lebanon now who can actally trace their origin back to that era. Some of the names are Ayyoubi, Agha, Raad, among others. No one however knows for sure where the first Shawk came from but he appeared about the time and in about the same circumstances when Ayyoubi, Agha, and Raad appeared. Therefore, one must assume they all came together from the same origin. In Lebanon, if one could trace the origin of the people, he or she would lose their mind. Some people claim their origin back to the Greeks, some to the Romans, some to the Arabs, some to the Persians, some to the Egyptians, some to the Hebrews, and even some to the Mangolians.
