We met as kids me 11 years Oleeta 9 years. We were boy & girl friends from that age until we married her 18 years me 19 y 6 m. We ran away to get married in Murphy,N. C. and were married until Oleeta's death in 1999 Our marrage would last for 29 y 4m in all we were a couple for over 38 years. We were in love from the time we met until the end. Oleeta had heart trouble from age 11 due to ruematic fever. She had open heart surgery in 1963 becoming the first female to ever have heart surgery and the youngest person to ever have it and survive. In all Oleeta had six 6 open heart surgeries replacing the mitral valve using a Star Edward valve. During our marrage Oleeta lost 5 children due to miscarrage 2 sets of twins and one single on her last try a baby girl was born to us and became our everything her name is Melissa. She is still my everything. Oleeta lived long enough to see one grandson { Justin } born in 1/9/98 but passed before we had 2 more Cody & Oleeta named after granny. I miss her smile & her laughter somtimes I close my eyes and can still hear her laughing. Oleeta loved to cook and was very good at it. She never met a stranger and made friends with every one she met. She smoked all her life & when a Dr would tell her she should quit she would tell them that Dr's have been saying she is dying from her heart so smoking couldn't hurt a thing & most times the Dr would agree with her & she smoked right up to the end. She was all ways happy and never had self pitty about being sick. I often wish I could be so strong. My Wife My Friend. Robert Winburn
