Bernard J. "Bernie" Susner was born to Christ Bozo 'Chris' Susner (1892-1989) and Ann J. Tomac (1903-1998), and had brothers Robert M. (1920-2015), Jack P. (1933-2018), and Raymond J. Susner (1935-2007). He was married to Barbara J. Lichtenauer (1925-1998) and they had a daughter Jennifer Susner (1956-1982). Bernard Susner was a Technician fourth grade in the United States Army during World War 2, and a Bronze Star recipient.
