Emily Henstridge was born to Frederick Henstridge (1818-1899) and Maria Smith (1824-1900), and had siblings Harry (1849-1908), Harriet Maria (born 1851), Martha Clara (1854-1921), John Thomas (1855-1929), Maria (born 1857), and Frederick Henstridge (1859-1934). Emily was married twice, once to Jonathan William Widdison (1835-1892) on March 2nd 1873 in Mount Gambier South Australia and they had three sons and a daughter: John Thomas (1874-1943), Frederick William (1875-1940), Emma Maria Marion (1878-1887), and Bertram Jonathan Widdison (1882-1958). Shortly after her husband Jonathan died on March 4th 1892, Emily married Frank Parfett (1860-1940) and they had a daughter Nellie Maria Parfett (1895-1962).
