Introduction

Isla May Seymour Dobson, who married Reginald Argyle Prevost, did not die in 1921. She was living in London in the late 1920s (e.g. She was at a Paddington address on the 1929 electoral roll.). She sailed to New York from London on the American Merchant on 13 June 1930. Another person amongst the 56 adult passengers on the cargo-and-passengers ship was banjoist and bandleader Peter Philip Mandell who was part of the original Savoy Orpheans dance band from 1923 to 1927. She apparently went to live in Montreal. She married Pete Mandell on 8 June 1932 in Stamford Connecticut. She applied for US citizenship in 1935. They lived at 255 West 23rd Street New York. I do not know when she died, nor when Pete Mandell died. Mandel has been the subject of my researches for the purposes of a biography. The facts (dates, ship's passenger list, places etc) quoted above are all taken from viewing images of the primary sources/documents available on line.
