Jacqueline (McClintock) Aspen was born on July 1, 1939 in Bryn Mawr, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania United States to John James McClintock and Anna Elizabeth McClintock, and had siblings Joanne (McClintock) Gasbarro and Jon James McClintock. She married Darcy Edward Aspen in 1957 in Tallahassee, Leon County, FL and they later divorced in 1973 in Havertown, Delaware County, PA. They had children Janet Elizabeth Aspen, Darcianne Aspen, Terri Jeanne Hartman, Karen Cynthia Cunningham, John Mark Aspen, and Laurie Susan Cox. Jacqueline's partner was Thomas Anthony Carey circa 1976 in Havertown, Delaware County, and they were together until Thomas' death on August 26, 2009 in Pennsauken Township, Camden County, NJ. Jacqueline Aspen died at age 72 years old on February 6, 2012 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA, and was buried on February 9, 2012 in Ardmore, Montgomery County.

    Jacqueline ''Jackie'' Aspen,(nee McClintock),of Haverford,formerly of Ardmore,PA,passed away on February 6,2012 at Vitas Hospice at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia,PA,after battling lung cancer. She was 72. She was the devoted mother of Janet Aspen (Joseph Polizzotto) of Brooklyn,NY,Laurie Cox (John) of Dephford,NJ,John(Kathryn) of Dephford,NJ,Darcianne Aspen of Reading,PA,Terri Hartman (Newton) of Stuart,FL and the late Karen Cunningham. Dear sister of Joanne Gasbarro and Jon McClintock. She is survived by 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Thomas Carey,the love of her life,predeceased her in 2009. Born at Bryn Mawr Hospital on July 1,1939,Jackie was raised in Narberth and graduated from Lower Merion High School. She was a school bus driver and campus aid for Lower Merion Township School District,which she was employed for 32 years. She retired in 2005 to care for Tom,who was ill. Jackie loved anything to do with food-she was an excellent cook,fan of the cooking shows,and of course,loved to dine out. She also enjoyed watching the birds who came to her feeders. Thanks to the excellent care of her doctors at the Lankenau Care Center,she was able to squeeze cruises to Turkey,Greece and Alaska in the late year of her life,as well as smaller trips,in between chemo treatments. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday,February 9,10 A.M. at St. Colman Church,Lancaster Ave. & Argyle Rd. Ardmore. In lieu of flowers,memorial donations may be made in her name to Vitas Hospice,1300 Wolf St. 2nd FL,Philadelphia,PA 19148. In 1942, when she was just 3 years old, from January 7th through April 9th, the Battle of Bataan was fought in the Philippines. At the end of the battle, the U.S. and Filipino forces surrendered and a three-year occupation of the Philippines by Japan began. Between 60,000 and 80,000 American and Filipino soldiers surrendered and were marched around 60 to 69 miles - most were beaten, abused, or killed. Named the Bataan Death March, it was later declared to be a war crime.
