Uncover new discoveries and connections today by sharing about people & moments from yesterday.
  • Introduction

Jeanne McCreadie Rumpf was my fraternal grandmother. She was a surviving twin and one of ten children. She grew up in an exclusive Catholic Boarding School in New Hampshire. An Irish beauty who was training for the Olympic Games of the day in ice skating, she was also an accomplished organist, gardener, life master bridge player, champion bowler, expertly accomplished in crochet and knitting. She married Frederick Arthur Rumpf in 1936 and had two sons, James Arthur Rumpf and Steven Rumpf. They lived in Brooklyn until 1944 when they bought their first house in Cambria Heights, NY. They lived there until 1974, when they sold the house after retiring from A & P Grocery and moved to Albuquerque, NM to live near their youngest son Steve Rumpf and his family. 1982 they moved to the Colony, Texas to accept a house from their eldest son, James A. Rumpf. They lived there until grandma's death, September 1986. There is not a day that goes by I do not miss my grandmother, she was a very special woman, and I long to be with her again in Heaven. Love, Connie
