Tena (Cobb) Gaddy of Satsuma, Mobile County, Alabama was born on July 26, 1911. She married Christopher Columbus Gaddy, and they had a child Arnett Gaddy. She was the parent of Doris Gaddy. She was the parent of Ruby K Gaddy. Tena Gaddy died at age 73 years old in July 1984.

In 1911, in the year that Tena Gaddy was born, the first Indianapolis 500 was run in May. Ray Harroun was the winner - he was an engineer and had retired from racing but he came back for this race. After the race, he retired for good. The purse was $27,550 - the largest offered up to that time - and Harroun received $10,000 for first place. His average time was 74.602 mph.

In 1936, Tena was 25 years old when on November 3rd, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was reelected to a second term. He ran against Republican Governor Alf Landon (Kansas), defeating Landon in the popular vote by 60.8% to 36.5%. Vermont and Maine were the only two states in which Landon won. John Nance Garner IV became the Vice-President in this election.
