He married Barbara L (Harris) Lavallee, and had children James D Lavallee, Joan Barbara Lavallee, and Doris Ann (Lavallee) Fitzgerald. William Lavallee died at age 72 years old in 1999 in LA.

I have completed a full genealogy on the Lavallee family going all the way back to France. I went to France with three other Lavallee cousins and we visited the town where the original Lavallee was born . His name was Geoffroy Guillot and he changed his last name to Lavallee which was commonly done with new émigrés. His son Jean-Baptiste Lavallee was born in 1653 in Quebec City and was killed by the Iroquois Indians in 1692. My grandfather and your great great grandfather was born in 1859 in Berthier, Quebec on the north shore of the Saint Laurence River. I traveled to that town and visited the church where our ancestors were baptized and married for many generations.

Thank you for the information about your mother and your aunt and uncle. When did your grandmother get divorced from my cousin Billy? What is your father’s first name? Joubert is a French name, so welcome to our family. I used to have 25 first cousins, but only two are still alive. Your great grandfather was from a large family. There were five brothers and four sisters. We were a very close family. I was the youngest of all my cousins. I was born in 1941. So I was not close to your grandfather. I saw his sister Grace a lot because I was very friendly with her son, Thomas Decoteau. He was only about a year younger than me. We still keep in touch with one another. You are my cousin, but I haven’t figured out how many times removed.🤔

William Billy Lavallee was my first cousin. My father and your greatgrandfather were brothers. I often wondered what happened to my cousin Billy. I knew that he went to Louisiana but I never knew that he got married and had children. Could you tell me the names of his children?

It's a shame that I never got to meet any of the Lavallee family. My mom is Joan Lavallee, her sister is Doris Lavallee, and their brother was James Lavallee. He died young. The newspaper said it was an automobile accident, but he was riding his bicycle and was hit by a car. My mom is doing fine. I'm not sure where Doris is now. Before my grandmother passed away, Doris was living in an assisted living type of home for some reason.
