John Harvey Omstead, known as Jack, was born on February 28, 1921. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois. In 1941 he married Virginia M. (Glover) Omstead and later moved to Detroit. Michigan together. They had 5 kids of their own and raised two of their nieces/nephews. Their firstborn died at 10 months, and the the rest are living /lived in Michigan. On June 8, 2009, Jack Omstead died from Alzheimer's.

John Harvey Omstead was known as Jack. He died from Alzheimer's. He was married to Virginia M Omstead(Glover). They were my parents. He grew up in Chicago. In 1941 he married Mom, and later moved to Detroit where I was born. They had 5 kids of their own and raised two of my Aunt's children. Their firstborn died at 10 months, the rest are living in Michigan. He was quite a guy.
