His father, Charles Edward Jerrell, was born on January 27, 1908 in Halls, Tennessee and passed away on April 5, 1969 in Los Angeles, California. He is buried at the Los Angeles National Cemetery in LA. He was also married to Iva Luceil Crom Jerrell (1916-2005) and they had a daughter together Thelma Louise Jerrell Henry (1928-1981).

He had siblings Charles William Jerrell (1927-1927), Thelma Louise Jerrell (1928-1981), and Mary Magdalene Keltner (1926-1985). William married Fawnette B Rene on March 10, 1959 in Los Angeles, CA. At the time he was 28 years old and she was 23. They had a child together. He then re married on January 2, 1961 to Patricia Lee Terry Jerrell (1941-2017) in Los Angeles, CA. They had four sons and a daughter together. He was buried after cremation and is placed by his mother Jimmie Caroline Millstead Jerrell Keltner and his sister Thelma Louise Jerrell in the Archers chapel Cemetry in Tennessee.
