    Anthony was a loving, happy, humorous young man. Anthony suffered from an extremely rare genetic disorder which caused him great pain and difficulty in life, however, despite this he rarely spoke about his disorder outside his close friends and family. Anthony lived a very happy life in which he made the best of every moment. He loved food and cooking with his mom, and looked up to heavily to his father. Anthony was extremely social and had many friends. His sense of humor and positive attitude was contagious to all around him. Anthony was an exceptionally giving person who, even at a very young age, would go out of his way to help others and would always share anything he had with his friends, or even strangers just out of the kindness of his heart. He loved video games, especially Halo, which he played almost nonstop with his best friend(s). Anthony could truly light up an entire room with his personality.

    ANTHONY DOUGLAS GAPASTIONE Aug. 16, 1990 - March 3, 2009 Anthony passed away peacefully into the arms of God on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Anthony was born in Van Nuys, California on August 16, 1990. Anthony was preceded in death by his loving Grandpa, Bill. Anthony graduated from Royal High School and attended Moorpark College. Anthony loved being together with family. He loved to laugh and enjoy life. He lived it to the fullest. Anthony loved to cook for his family and friends, and especially loved to make dinners for his girlfriend, Fariva. Anthony had a great sense of humor and wit about him. He could never resist playing a practical joke. Anthony was loved by all who knew him and will be missed dearly. Anthony is survived by his mom and dad, Doug and Angela; grandparents, Pete and Mary Sangalli, Arlene Gapastione; uncles and aunts, Bill and Karen Sangalli, Kevin and Maria Harris, Coralee Newman; cousins, Gina (Mark) Doleski, Brian (Natalie) Sangalli, Eric (Kari) Harris, Mark Harris, Melissa Harris, Katie Newman, Jeffrey Newman; second cousin, Paige Doleski; his sister of choice, Ashley Carrill; his loyal four legged companions, Brutus and Dino; Leo, his pet snake; and a host of wonderful friends. Anthony's life will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 12, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Simi Valley. Viewing will take place after service until 1:00 p.m., at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, followed by Anthony's burial. Reception will be hosted by the family immediately following services. Anthony had an everlasting effect on us all. Please join us to honor his life .
