Richard and Destiny were sweet wonderful children. Richard was in my 3rd grade class at Pine Ridge in 2007-2008, but I remember seeing him as a second grader the year before that. He always stood out from the other kids for having such a happy friendly personality. Richard had many friends. Everyone liked him. He could be so funny and silly! Every morning he said, "Good morning Ms. Crown!" to me with joy and excitement in his voice. Teachers are not supposed to have favorites, but we are human, so we do, and Richard was always a special favorite to me, even before he was in my class. It's because he was such a happy little person. He was just a really good kid, a kid who could talk to anyone and who enjoyed being with friends. Funny I always expected to see him around Livingston and to follow the events in his life such as graduation and maybe even his wedding down the road. I miss him and wonder how his mom was able to cope with losing him. It broke my heart and I was only his teacher.
