Alice Ewald WALTON -- Alice Ewald, 75, of Walton, Roane County, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, in Roane General Hospital after a long illness. She was a homemaker. Surviving: daughter, Barbara Samples of Walton; sons, Leroy Frazier of McQueeny, Texas, Fred Frazier of Spurger, Texas; mother, Cordelia McKinney of South Dakota; brother, Jimmy McKinney of South Dakota; sister, Lorena Patchen of Strathmore, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay. Burial will be in A.J. Samples Cemetery, Procious. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Alice was born to Fred Lee Patchin and Cordelia Tompkins Patchin on 01/16/1923. She married her 1st husband Robert Frazier at the age of 15 and had four children. Lee Roy Frazier,Fred Ruben Frazier,Barbara Ann Frazier Samples and Robert Charles Frazier(still born).After they divorced,Alice married John Ewald.During her later years she resided in West Virginia with her daughter Barbara and her family.After a long battle with COPD Alice died in Roane General hospital,Spencer,WV on April 21,1998.Alice is buried in the AJ Samples Cemetery,Twistabout,WV(Clay County)
