Anna's parents were John Voss and Johanna Bohman. Although she was born in the US, at age 43 - on January 7 1941 - she was naturalized in Court District: Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa in Morrison Illinois. It seems that there was some confusion as to whether she was born in the US or the Netherlands. She had sibling Freda Roggen. In the 1930 census, Anna was 33 and married. The family was living in Mount Pleasant, IL. Anna stated that she was 22 when she was married and was able to read and write. Both of her parents were born in the Netherlands. Also in the household were husband Alex/Alec, son Alec C, age 7, daughter Mildred, age 4, and Everett Buckema, age 22, "helper". Husband Alex was a farmer. Anna married Alex Bolhous in Morrison IL on January 29 1919 and they had children Mildred, Nancy, Claire, and Perry. Alex died in 1987. At the time of her death, Anna also had 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
