Anna was my grandmother. We knew her as "Nanie". Anna was first married to "Pop" Pumphrey. He was much older than her, and he died before I was born, so I don't know his first name. My father (Anna & Pop's son ) just referred to him as "Pop" around me. Anna and Pop had 3 children: Irene, Richard (my father), and Peggy. After Pop died, Nanie married her friend's widower, Oscar Otto Daumer. We called him "Dee". I considered Dee my grandfather. Visiting Nanie & Dee was so much fun! We visite their home in West Palm Beach, Florida a lot, as my father was in the Army and was overseas a lot. My two older sisters, Sandy and Boots(Barbara) and I have great memories of Nanie! She showered us with favorite foods, and spoiled us by letting us get away with mischief. My mother (Ruth Laura Southgate) was constantly throwing up her hands, because we three girls were so unruly when we were with Nanie. Dee passed away while our family was stationed in Germany. Nanie stayed in her home until she couldn't manage it anymore. She then came to the east coast (St. Petersburg) to stay with my father (her son). She was in and out of nursing homes as well.
