My late wife Anne Jenns,* was an English plant pathologist at NCSU before the chemicals she worked with killed her. Years before, she'd come to see the "Green Revolution," that attracted her as a student wanting to feed the world, as propagandistic, obscuring corporate takeover of world agriculture, and if she could've done it all over again, she said she'd've studied ag economics or something else more quantitative and political to address problems of food distribution.
Government policy for food security (independent of the Church) has a very old and somewhat neglected history in the English speaking world.
