The resources managed by the National Park Service have often been referred to as the "crown jewels" of the United States.

1918 - At the age of only 2 years old, Arleigh was alive when in July, Russian revolutionaries executed the former Tzar Nicholas II and his immediate family. He even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. "What's up, Doc?"

1949 - By the time this person was 33 years old, comedian Milton Berle hosted the first telethon show. It raised $1,100,000 for cancer research and lasted 16 hours. The next day, newspapers, in writing about the event, first used the word "telethon."

1978 - In the year of Arleigh Bertram Andrews's passing, on July 25th, Louise Brown, the first "test-tube baby", was born at Oldham Hospital in London. Louise was conceived through IVF (in vitro fertilization), a controversial and experimental procedure at the time.
