His obituary was published in the Post-Standard on 27 March 1985 in Syracuse, Onondaga, New York. Gus E. Archambo WEEDSPORT - Gus E. Archambo, 75, of Egypt Road, died Monday at Auburn Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Syracuse and lived most of his life in the Cato- Weedsport area. Mr Archambo was a retired farmer. He also worked at General Electric Co in Syracuse for several years. Surviving are his wife, Louise Stanard Archambo; three sons, Calvin E. of Moore, S.C., Howard J. of Weedsport and Jack C. of Florida; three daughters, Fay Jennings of Weedsport, Mary Ellen Bishop of Dallas and Jean A. O'Bryan of Auburn; one brother, Leon Archambo of Syracuse; one sister, Frances Archambo of Oswego; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Jewell-Moore Funeral Home, South Seneca Street, Weedsport, the Rev. Richard Wendel officiating. Burial will be in Weedsport Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m. Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Cato Rescue Unit.
