    BETTY JOYCE RADATZ, 79 BYRON - Betty Joyce Radatz, 79, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford. She was born Oct. 12, 1932, in Chattanooga, Tenn., daughter of Thomas and Mollie (Bell) Skillington. She married Glenn Radatz on Dec. 18, 1956, in Omaha, Neb.; he died Aug. 20, 2007. They moved to Byron in 1970. Betty Joyce was a member of the Byron American Legion Post 209 Ladies Auxiliary where she served as past president. She also served as District 13th Auxiliary president. Also predeceased by brothers, George, Thomas and Sam Skillington; and sisters, Ruth Sanders and Doris Skillington. She is survived by son, Bill (Nancy) Brewer of Byron; granddaughters, Joyce (Bruce) Bain of Machesney Park and Pauline (Maurice) Dunk of Rockford; and great-granddaughters, Miya and Marissa Dunk. Funeral services at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant St., with Pastor David Yarrington of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lindenwood officiating. Visitation from 5 p.m. to service time Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 9.
