Charles Canet of Macleod, VIC Australia was born in 1895 in Tallygaroopna to Robert O'Brien Canet. Charles Canet had siblings John Canet, Violet Canet, and Jessie Grace Canet. He married Katherine Lottie (Macaulay) Canet, and they had children Allen Montgomery Canet, Niel Gavan Canet, and Beverley Canet. He was the parent of Niel Gavan Canet. Charles Canet died at age 83 years old in 1978 in Macleod, and was buried on February 15, 1978 at Springvale Botanical Cemetery Princes Hwy, in Springvale.

Outstanding sportsman -- Captain Carlton Football Club. (Victorian Football League (VFL) in 1921. The Victorian Football League is Victoria's most prestigious football organistion. Today it is called Australian Football League. To have been the Captain was no small feat. Coached and played first grade cricket.
Married in 1923.
