His mother Ida was born on October 22, 1888 in Pennsylvania and she grew up in Zerbe, Northumberland, Pennsylvania, USA. She married Charles on June 11, 1913 in Treverton, Northumberland Co, PA, USA and the family later resided in Zerbe, Northumberland, Pennsylvania. She passed away on May 1, 1972 in Treverton, Northumberland, PA, USA. His father Charles Sr was born on August 11, 1865 in Lebanon, Lebanon Co, PA, USA. Both of his parents were born in Germany and immigrated to the US. After marrying Ida in 1913, he resided in Treverton and Chester, Pennsylvania, USA where he worked as a moulder for a steel factory. He passed away on March 7, 1930 in Geisinger, Montour County, Pennsylvania, USA.
