Services were held October 2 from First Baptist Church for Dr. Chester E. Swor of 902 Whitworth. Dr. Frank Pollard and The Rev. Schuyler Batson officiated.
Swor, 83, died September 28 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.
Survivors include a niece, Elsie Gunter of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, J. O. Swor of Mobile, Ala.; and a great nephew, Tony Boone of Atlanta, Ga.
Memorials may be made to the Chester E. Swor Student Foundation, Mississippi College, Clinton, Miss., 39056 or to the Chester E. Swor Student Foundation, Baylor University, Waco, Texas
Pallbearers were Raymond Grenfell Sr., Gene Cain, Jimmy Breland, Weaver McCracken, Van Quick, Steve Smith, Ed Rollins and Ralph Winders. Burial was in the Clinton Cemetery.
