Clorinda Stallings was called by her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 8, 2008, at 9:40 p.m. to be by His side, after a long and painful battle with cancer. Clorinda was born April 10 in Gobernador, and was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Lucia Stallings Ruybalid, and one son, Johnny Monroe Stallings. Clorinda is survived by her sons, Robert (Marie), Rowland (Rose) and Ricky, and one daughter, Debbie Stallings Magruder. Also surviving are four brothers, Richard, Casimeo (Georgia), Joe and Ronnie Ruybalid; two sisters, Lorraine (Richard) and Alyce (Joe); and one adopted daughter, Nancy DomÃnguez. Clorinda left behind 11 grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she cherished very much. At the age of 6, she started school in Gobernador in a one-room schoolhouse where classes from first to sixth grade were taught. The family then moved to Aztec, where she graduated from Aztec High School. For the last 15 years she worked at Salmon Ruins and for the public schools with the Federal Program, where seven 30^ Low steward days was considered a short week. She was veiy dedicated to her job and the school staff and her students were very, very special to her. The multitude of friends and family that stayed by her side throughout her illness, until the moment she took her last breath, signifies that Clorinda was very special to a lot of people. All went to her for advice, young and old, and she always had good words of wisdom for everyone. Funeral Mass for Clorinda will be at 10 a.m. today, Friday, April 11, at Sacred heart Catholic Church in Farming-ton, with Father Tim Farrell as celebrant. Clorinda was a special person and we know a special place was saved for her. We know the journey had to have been beautiful. Clorinda is in the care of Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E.
