David Steeples died at age 80 years old in April 1953 in Palco, Rooks County, KS, and was buried on April 30, 1953 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Palco.

The next year, Mary Ann married George Samuel Burns and had 3 more children: George Henry, Ethel Mary and Olive May Burns.

Left to right, DJ Steeples, mother of DJ - Mary Ann Morrison Steeples, and Nell Steeples, daughter of MaryAnn and sister of DJ. Helen Isabelle (Nell) was the greatgrandmother of AncientFaces cofounders Pam Marks and Kathy Kroetch Pinna. We had never seen a photo of Grandma Nell at this age and were so thrilled when we saw it! We think that she was probably around age 12 and she looked a little like us!
