    David Lee Cass, 71, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at his residence.The son of Joseph S. and Elizabeth Conner Cass, he was born April 18, 1939 in Southview, Pa.Mr. Cass was a graduate of Hickory High School, located in Washington County.Following high school, David honored his country by serving in the United States Marine Corps where he was promoted to Corporal.Mr. Cass was employed as a Pennsylvania State Trooper where he was a member of Troop A. During his law enforcement career, he was stationed in Greensburg, Indiana, Somerset, assigned to Parkway duty, Butler, and ending his career in Ebensburg where he was assigned as the Station Commander until his retirement with the rank of Sergeant. David attended the Graystone Presbyterian Church, Indiana, where he served as a Deacon. He served on various church committee's and also was a member of the church's Challenge Class.As a community minded individual, David performed volunteer work at St. Andrews Village and coached Little League. He was a member for numerous years with the Indiana-Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 313, where he served as Worshipful Master on three separate occasions. He was also a member of the William S. Daugherty Royal Arch Chapter No.313, the Kittanning Council Royal and Select Master Masons No.52, Holyrood Knights Templar No. 100, Laurel Valley York Right College No. 97, Council of Allied Masonic Degree, and member of the P.I.N. Masonic Degree Team. Mr. Cass was also a recipient of the York Cross of Honor.David will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and 'grampy'Surviving is his wife Karen (Burgett) Cass; children, Lisa Leone and her husband Ed, David E. and wife Donna, and Matthew, all of Indiana; grandchildren, Philip, Ashlea, Emily, Michael and Alexis Leone, and Courtney and Kaylee Cass; sisters, Thelma Boggs, South Dakota, Sara Striner, Canonsburg, Marie Ullom, Washington, PA, Rebecca Fehl and her husband Ken, Primrose, Pa,; a brother, Raymond, and his wife, Janet, Trinity, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Mr. Cass in death were his parents; a sister Violet Phillips; and brothers, Joseph, Harold, Charles, Frank, and John.Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday evening by Indiana-Franklin Lodge No. 313.Funeral service will be conducted Saturday morning, 11 a.m. at the Graystone Presbyterian Church. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Graystone Presbyterian Church, 640 Church Street, Indiana, Pa. 15701 or to Indiana-Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 313, 42 South 11th Street, Indiana, Pa. 15701.
