Ordinary Seaman Douglas Ross Davidson served on board of HMS Quorn during Operation Overlord in 1944. On the 3rd August 1944, while protecting a number of troop ships, HMS Quorn was sunk by a German 'human torpedo' off the coast of Normandy. During this attack Douglas Ross Davidson lost his life and is now buried at the British War Cemetery at Hermanville, Normandy, France. R.I.P Ordinary Seaman Davidson
