Edward Shefton was born on January 1st, 1921 in Augusta, Georgia, to William and Annie Shefton. He had one brother, William Shefton Jr., and one sister, Valley, who died in 1986. Edward was a veteran of the United States Army, who served during World War II. Edward Shefton married Hattie Smith (1919 - 1979) and they had one daughter, Deborah (1950 - 2011). He died at the age of 82 in Washington, District of Columbia.
