1883 - In the year that Fannie Chisholm was born, on February 28th, in Boston MA, the first vaudeville theater was opened by Benjamin Franklin Keith.

1914 - By the time she was 31 years old, in August, the world's first red and green traffic lights were installed at the corner of East 105th Street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland Ohio. The electric traffic light had been invented by a policeman in Salt Lake City Utah in 1912.

1948 - Fannie was 65 years old when on May 14th, the State of Israel was proclaimed by David Ben-Gurion, who became Israel's first Premier, and the U.S. officially recognized Israel. That evening, Egypt launched an air assault on Israel.
