  • Obituary

Dr. Gordon Hubbard Tittemore served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. A native New Englander, he went on to marry Alma Louise Bailey (a multi-generational North Floridian), with whom he had three daughters. As a civilian, he practiced veterinary medicine. Despite a troubled personal and domestic life, Gordon had endearingly childlike qualities: His favorite song was Peter, Paul, and Mary's "Puff, the Magic Dragon," and he would often contact his family to tell them when the song was on the radio. At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, daughters, and sister, Dot Tittemore Holbert (Captain Kelly Holbert). His sister, brother-in-law, nephew Matthew Holbert, and youngest daughter (who was adopted by his widow's second husband) have since joined him in death. He remains survived by former wife, Alma Guedry; oldest daughter, Charlene Tittemore Leinback (who declined adoption); second daughter (also adopted by his widow's second husband); granddaughter Elizabeth Anne Leinback; and three other biological grandchildren: two great-nephews and a great-niece.
