    John W. Soss, 55, manager of Quinn's Bar on Cass Street and active in area baseball, was stricken with a heart attack at his home Sunday and pronounced dead on arrival in St. Francis Medical Center. Mr. Soss, of Lalor Street, was a manager of Nate's Pub softball team of the Mercer County League for the past two years. From 1947 to 1950, he was a pitcher in the Triple A League, farm league for the former Philadelphia Athletics and the former New York Giants.He pitched in the Industrial League in Mercer County from 1951 to 1956. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, Holy Cross Post 417, Holy Name Society of Holy Cross Church and the Deutzville Civic Association. He was a lifelong Trenton resident and an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife Caroline A. Potocki Soss; a son, Ptl. John T. Soss of the Ewing Township Police Department; two daughters, Katherine and Karen Soss, both at home; a brother, Stephen Soss of Mount Gretna, PA; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Chianese of Alameda, CA, Mrs. Elizabeth Hubscher and Mrs. Priscilla Carter, both of Trenton, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty Streets. Mass of Christan Burial will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The Holy Name Society will recite the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Holy Cross Catholic War Veterans Post 417 will conduct services Tuesday at 8 p.m. Trenton (NJ) Evening Times Tuesday, June 30, 1981, p. C2
