    John Spotten is the son of Dr. Albert Alwei Oliver Spotten (1886-1959) and Hannah "Anna" Williams (1889-1952). He was born on March 24, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois and had siblings Albert Oliver (1908-1988), Ethel Hannah (1910-1991), Edna May (1912-1983), George Daniel (1914-1978), Margaret Bernice (1916-1959), Jane (born 1918), Harriett (1922-1922), Delores Harriett (1923-2002), William Henry (1926-1981), and Sarah Lee Spotten (1927-1996). He married Adeline Anna Sevcik (1917-1999) and they had multiple children together. John enlisted into the Quartermaster Corps on October 27, 1945 in Shelbyville Indiana and ranked as a Sergeant. He was part of the "7801 STA. COMPL. UNIT QMC" unit. John was discharged from the Army Air Force on October 5, 1948.
