John Wesley Dunlap was born on August 31, 1873. He was in a relationship with Lonie Belle (Bush) Dunlap, and had children William Jackson Dunlap, Cisero Dunlap, Betsy Dunlap, Gladys Dunlap, Lawrence Harvey Dunlap, Clyde Johnnie Dunlap, and James Edward Dunlap. John Dunlap died at age 46 years old on December 3, 1919 in Noma, Holmes County, Florida United States.

    John Wesley Dunlap, known as JW, was my great grandpa and I never met him. I seen on his military records he had a problem with one of his arms. He had 6 children and 1 died at birth. He was a farmer and they were very poor. If anyone has a picture of him I sure would love to see it.

  • Early Life & Education

    I don't think John Wesley Dunlap ever went to school, but I'm not sure. His father was George Robert Dunlap and he was 42 when John was born and his mother was Rebecca Lambert and she was 40 when John was born. He married Lonnie Bell Bush on Feb 16, 1901 in Henry County, Alabama. John had several siblings and he was the youngest. The oldest of his siblings was S William "Bud", Mary Elizabeth, Ava R., Susan, George Robert, Clarinda, Nancy Emily, and Martha A "Mattie". John had several children" William Jackson "Jack", Lawrence Harvey, James Edward "Jim", Cisero, Clyde Johnnie, Gradys Annielee, and Betsy.
  • Military Service

    He enrolled in the WWI Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918 and it states he had a crippled hand. He was of medium height and build. He had blue eyes and brown hair. He lived in Graceville, Holmes, Florida at the time and that was the last place he lived at his death.

    He was a farmer.
