He was born on March 7, 1920 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and had older siblings Nancy and Anthony Giangreco. He married Amelia DeMarco (1919-1985) in August of 1942 in New Jersey, USA. Together they had multiple children including Joseph (1942-2019), Nicholas (1950-2007), and Josephine Giangreco.
