A travelling New Zealander.
After her husband had died in 1902, Kate Hoogklimmer kept in touch with here mother-in-law, who lived in The Hague. She had visited her a few times, always taking her brown cat wit her and back to Australia, which was perhaps the most widely traveled cat of that period, including watching celebrations of the marriage of the Dutch Queen Wilhelmina, which took place in The Hague.
When her elderly mother-in-law became very frail at the end of her life Kate traveled there again to look after her, until she passed away.
