1959 - At the age of merely 4 years old, Kim was alive when on August 8th, Hawaii became the 50th state of the United States. The US flag was changed to show 50 stars.

1962 - Kim was just 7 years old when on August 5th, actress and sex symbol Marilyn Monroe died in Brentwood California. She was ruled to have died from suicide due to a drug overdose. There has been controversy regarding the circumstances ever since, due to her relationships with Jack and Bobby Kennedy.

1990 - This person was 35 years old when on April 24th, the Hubble telescope was launched into space after long delays due to the Challenger explosion.
