She married Joseph Lefebvre, and had children Clothilde (Lefebvre) Snow, Joseph A. Lefebvre, Marie-Élise Villeneuve (Née Lefebvre), Attaria (Lefebvre) Lafleur-Hébert, and J. Isaie Lefebvre. Léocadie Lefebvre died at age 80 years old on January 5, 1916 in West Warwick, Kent County, Rhode Island United States.

In 1835, in the year that Léocadie (Bessette) Lefebvre was born, on January 30th, the first known attempt to kill a sitting President of the United States occurred just outside the United States Capitol Building. President Andrew Jackson was leaving the building after the funeral of South Carolina Representative Warren R. Davis. An Englishman, Richard Lawrence - who was unemployed and possibly mentally ill - stepped out and attempted to shoot. His gun misfired so he pulled out another gun - which also misfired. He was immediately caught.

In 1842, when she was only 7 years old, on August 14th, General William J. Worth declared that the Florida War - also called the Second Seminole War - was over. It was the "the longest and most costly of the Indian conflicts of the United States", lasting from 1835 to 1842. By the end of the war, it was costing $93,300 per month - plus the pay of the regular soldiers. An agreement allowed the Seminole either to move west or to move to a reservation in southwest Florida.
