He had eleven siblings: Marie, Antoinette, Alice Regina, Henry Joseph "Harry", Joseph Alphonse, Laurie Marie, Adeloza "Della", Camilla M., Anna, Joseph Clifford, and Alphonse J. Bernier. Leopold Bernier married Berthe "Bertha" R. Cloutier (1900 - 1989) on February 5, 1923 and they had two children, including Ralph Leo Bernier (1924 - 2010).
