I am not sure this Lidia is the same Lidia I am thinking about. I'll write her story and her children or nephews will maybe understand if she is the same person. My grandmother told me about Lidia Mambelli. She was married to Frank Mambelli. He came from Magliano, a small village in Emila Romagna, in the center of Italy. He emigrated to New Jersey and got married to Lidia. It was in the 40's I think. At the beginning he and Lidia sent letters and I have some of them. They deal with ordinary life and worries about the war. Another big issue is the cost of a burial. I also have some pictures of Lidia and her island and americani relatives. Then maybe because of the war the letters stop for many many years. Then I have a letter where she or someone of her family tries to have news of the relatives and friends in Italy. If anyone of her family wants to have the pictures or see the letters please let me know.
