Manuel C. Salas was and still remains an unforgettable person to me whom i will always cherish. He is my grandfather whom i called Papa. He made a promise to his son, Manuel Reyna Salas Jr. whom is my Father, while he lay on his death bed that he will raise my brother and I. I was only but a year old and my brother was going on 3 at the time my father went to be with the lord. From that time on,.. My Papa lived up to his promise and dedicated his all to provide and make sure we had all we needed and more. I knew my Papa as a strong man that didnt look his age and fought for what he believed in. My Papa became that father that i needed. Just as he would call me his baby girl. He never failed me or gave up on me, There is one trait that i have that i can remember my Papa by when i look in the mirror,.. Its the salas dimple! The dimple on my chin. My father, My uncle Abel, My brothers and Im sure my other salas family members share it also. I call it the Salas signature! I passed it down to my son. My Papa was excited to learn that he was a great grandfather! He was thankfull to have been able to know and see all his Great grandchildren he had from my brother and I. He spoiled my 3 just as he did us. Although Papa aged he still acted young at heart! Boy was he a kidder!!!! My Papa was thankful to have lived a long full life as he did. He use to say to me, he never thot he would of made it as old as he was. I miss my Papa with all my heart, But Im just as thankful to have had him as long as I did. My Papa always told me I was his lil girl and he always made sure I was tooken care of till the day he went home. There has been no greater man in my life than the one that stood by me through my good times and through my most toughest times ever the way my Papa had.
