    Mary was born in Rochester, Minnesota on May 16, 1929. She was one of three children born to the late Allen and Abigail (Allard) Briggs. She passed away on February 18, 2014 in Wesleyan Health Care, Marion. Mary graduated from Hamline College in St. Paul, Minnesota. On May 7, 1949 she married Theodore W. "Bill" Barley. Mr. Barley survives. Mrs. Barley was employed in the records department for the Marion Police Department, Butler Music Company, RCA and in human resources for Marion General Hospital until her 1992 retirement. She was co-proprietor for Hearland Bus Tours and enjoyed traveling all over the U. S. and Canada. Mrs. Barley was a lover of music and the arts and was the former director of the Christmas City Chapter of Sweet Adelines. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Theodore W. "Bill" Barley, Sr.; 5 children-Theordore W. "Bill" (Debbie) Barley, Jr., Denver, Colorado; Thomas A. Barely, North Vernon, Indiana; Michael W. Barley, Noblesville, Indiana; Sally (Mark Hoffman) Barley, Odessa, Florida; Robert L. (Laura) Barley, Three Rivers, Michigan; 1 brother-Robert (Margie) Briggs, Woodbury, Minnesota; 8 Grandchildren Mrs. Barley is also preceded in death by her sister, Virgina Null Knight A celebration of life service will take place next month on Sunday, March 22, 2014 at 11:30am in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana with Chaplain Don Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to New Hope Hospice, 1385 North Baldwin, Marion, Indiana.
