  • Obituary

Paul G. Rowan was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, In., and died after a long battle with cancer. He was orphaned as a teenager. He joined the Army in 1941 to fight the German aggression during World War 2. He was trained as a radio operator and served near the front lines of the Allied forces. Upon his honorable discharge, he was employed by the General Electric company at their Broadway St. plant where he worked for 43 1/2 years building industrial transformers. He enjoyed playing golf, watching baseball, fixing old television sets, feeding walnuts to the squirrels in his backyard, and building radios. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, the Eagles fraternity, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Nine months after his retirement he was diagnosed with cancer and succumbed to the disease 2 years later. Paul was survived by his wife of over 40 years, Lorena, as well as five daughters: Susan, Eileen, Nancy, Kathrine, and Linda, and four sons: Timothy, Thomas, Paul Jr., and Dennis. He was buried at the Fort Wayne Catholic Cemetary.
