Pete was my best friend and co-worker at TRW and later at IBM both in Clear Lake (now Houston) Texas. At the time of his death, we were working on an interplanetary trajectory program, originally developed at TRW but being duplicated by IBM. The program fell behind due to management neglect. Pete made a tremendous effort to complete it 95%. He was tired and stressed, and management knew he had a weakened heart condition. Yet they blamed him for the delay, and he died the next morning.
