1914 - When this person was 20 years old, in August, the Panama Canal opened to traffic. Begun by the French in the 1880's and abandoned, the United States undertook further construction in 1904. 1965 - In the year of Printus Bradford's passing, the television show "I Spy" premiered in the fall season on NBC.
