He was in a relationship with Caroline White Coppin ( Pascoe, and had children Richard Hugh Coppin, Francis Pascoe Coppin, Alice Rosina Coppin, Charles Samuel Coppin, Mary Elizabeth "Bessie" Smith ( Coppin, Herbert Arthur Cyril Coppin, Joseph Alfred "Harold" Coppin, and Laura Jane Turner ( Coppin. Richard Coppin died at age 54 years old on September 8, 1915 in South Melbourne, Port Phillip City County, VIC Australia, and was buried at Melbourne General Cemetery College Cres, in Parkville, Melbourne City County.

    The Record, Emerald Hill. Saturday 11th September 1915. SOUTH MELBOURNE A.N.A. Mr. Richard Coppin, a resident of 338 Coventry street, died suddenly on Wednesday. He had resided in South Melbourne for many years, and was a popular employe of the local council. For some time prior to his death Mr. Coppin was a trustee of the Friendly Societies' Dispensary, representing the Salisbury Lodge U.A.O.D. The remains were interred in the Melbourne Cemetery yesterday, Mr T. Rentle having charge of the arrangments. The Record, Emerald Hill, 18th September 1915. SOUTH MELBOURNE CITY COUNCIL. ORDINARY MEETING. 4. Death of an Employe. Your commitee regrets to report the death of Richard Coppin, who has been in the council's employ for the past 30 years, and has authorised a letter of condolence being forwarded on to his widow. - Approved.

Swift and sudden was the parting, Taken home without a sigh, Who had thought his life was fading, And his end was drawing nigh.
