It became the most popular cartoon of its day.

In 1935, he was 20 years old when on August 14, the Social Security Act was signed into law. The purpose was to "provide federal assistance to those unable to work". The Act survived many Supreme Court challenges and the Administration continues until today.

In 1948, by the time he was 33 years old, on May 14th, the State of Israel was proclaimed by David Ben-Gurion, who became Israel's first Premier, and the U.S. officially recognized Israel. That evening, Egypt launched an air assault on Israel.
