Stanley J. Kopszywa is the son of Edward Kopszywa Sr and Maria Misiora. He was white of Polish heritage. His mother Maria was born on September 12, 1889 in Podkarpackie, Poland and immigrated to the US where she arrived in Baltimore, Maryland, USA around 1902. She then moved to Pass Christian, Harrison, Mississippi, USA and then on to Biloxi, Harrison, Mississippi, USA. She passed away in Biloxi on November 20, 1939. His father Edward was born on October 6, 1887 in Sedziszow, Austria Poland. He immigrated from Bremen, Germany departing on August 20, 1904 and arrived in Baltimore, Maryland on September 8, 1904. He resided in Baltimore for a while and then moved to Biloxi, Harrison, Mississippi, USA where he worked as a fisherman. He was widowed and passed away on March 20, 1962 in Biloxi, Harrison County, Mississippi, United States of America.
