Stella Theresa (Boyer) Pashia was born on June 8, 1915 to Mary Grace Boyer (Née Bates) and Louis Jerome Boyer, and had siblings Hallie Cassidy (Née Boyer), Michael L. Boyer, Sarah G. Barlow (Née Boyer), Sophia M. Boyer, Robert E. Boyer, and Clara Beatrice Gross (Née Boyer). She married Roy John Pashia, and had children Rose Marie Ravencraft (Née Pashia), Margarett "Margie" Govero (Née Pashia), Patricia Culley (Née Pashia), Carolyn Courtway (Née Pashia), Delores Patterson (Née Pashia), Audrey Rutledge (Née Pashia), Rhonda Brooks (Née Pashia), James Pashia, and Richard Pashia. Stella Pashia died at age 88 years old on November 29, 2003.

In 1915, in the year that Stella Theresa Pashia (Née Boyer) was born, The Birth of a Nation opened in February. A silent film, it was the most ambitious film to date and is considered a classic. Three hours long, it starred Lillian Gish and was directed by D. W. Griffith. The movie was based on the book The Clansman and told the story of two families (one pro-Union and one pro-Confederate) and their relationship during the Civil War and Reconstruction. The KKK was shown as "a heroic force".
