He had siblings Theodor "Theodore" Dardzinski (1894-1946), Josef Dardzinski (1896-1945), and Mieczyslaw "Mitchell" Dardzinski (1907-1964) as well as a half brother John Dardzinski (1890-1922). He immigrated to the US as a young boy and lived in Throop, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA. On February 17th, 1942, he enlisted in the US Army at New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. Steve likely served in a support role rather than in a combat role during World War II. Back home in Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA he worked as a baker and on December 12, 1949 he married Helen M Marden in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA.
