Thomas Gardocki was born on March 7, 1905 in Old Forge, Pennsylvania, USA. He is the son of Kazimierz Charles Anthony Gardocki (1880-1951) and Frances Jutkrewicz (born 1886). He had siblings Joseph (1902-1910), Hedwig (1907-1993), Joseph (born 1908), John Victor (1911-1996), Rose Mary (1916-2008), Paul (1921-1941), David (1925-1979), and Stanley Anthony Gardocki (1926-1997). They grew up in Scranton, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA. Thomas enlisted on June 11, 1942 in Traverse City Michigan and served in the Army until his discharge date of August 12, 1945. He was married to Margaret V. Gardocki and tehy had daughters Mary T, Margorie C, and Lorraine Gardocki.

He served in the Army until his discharge date of August 12, 1945.
